The Cholla High School Student Council is a year-round class offered here at Cholla. It is a class in which you can learn and grow your leadership skills, and not only create a great community for the school, but also build one within the class itself. They do many things throughout the year, from planning different school events to helping run the events they plan. Some events they plan include the homecoming dance, prom, the senior luau, and they also help with other mini events that the school holds. With all the planning they do, they strive to do their best for the school community. At the end of the day, the dances, spirit weeks, and everything they do, in a way, bring the community together. More recently, they have started to do projects to bring a little more fun around the school and to better the school community. One of the projects they have started is painting a mural in Cholla’s weight room to help motivate Cholla students to do their best. This is being done by the Junior class of the Student Council. A few of the other grades in the Student Council have cleaning projects in which they clean certain parts of the school. Another example is the sophomore class of the Student Council having a clean-up project to help fix the school garden and better the school community.
The Student Council members have such dedication to the class and try to do their best to give back to the community. They put all their hard work into making things in class for events, stay after school to help with things, buy supplies for the events they plan, and even come in during days off, as well as helping to set up things when they need to. The class not only promotes great school positivity, but it is also a great example of a strong school community. They show great teamwork and leadership skills while also having great communication. They are a great representation of the school community at Cholla. They also show the type of family-like bonds you can create at Cholla. When you’re a student in the Student Council, you’re not just in a student leadership class, but you join a family that is so close and are able to create such amazing friendships and memories that will last forever. This is a prime example of what it’s like to be a part of clubs and classes offered at Cholla. Overall, Cholla has a lot of great classes to offer, and the Student Government (Student Council) is just one of the many great classes you can join. Being a part of the class is such a great way to not only make memories for the high school years, but also to show and grow leadership skills, along with many other skills. It’s also a great way to give back to the school community and make it better for not just your generation, but for future generations who attend Cholla High School.
