Pep rallies at Cholla are unique. The individuals who are in charge of setting up our rallies do a great job of being organized, decorating, and making each one special. During an interview with Mr. Parra, we asked if he had a least favorite thing about the pep rallies. His response was, “There is none.” In fact, he said, “There should be more.” Pep rallies are a great place to show your school spirit!

Pep rallies are for getting individuals ready for sports and school events. During our interview with Mr. Parra, he told us his favorite thing about pep rallies is the“spirit that comes from the kids at our school. “It’s about making memories, making people smile,” he told us. A few fun things we do at pep rallies are the relay race, fridge box, class competitions, teacher competitions etc. The people who compete during competitions are mostly random students who volunteer, football teams, and volunteer teachers.
The student council plays a huge role in setting up our pep rallies. This group makes all the decorations, and it takes plenty of teamwork to get it done. It not only takes teamwork, but it also takes time, effort and energy. Their job is also to get people into place before the time they’re supposed to go out and make sure everyone has what is needed. The planning process is complex due to the fact they must take a lot of time setting up to ensure everything and everyone is good.

While interviewing a member, Aaliyah Martinez, she told us her favorite part of the pep rallies was “getting to experience behind the scenes.” Another favorite thing of hers is “Seeing people enjoying our hard work.” Another member, Sergio Ruiz, believes this year is more successful at getting students to show school spirit. Overall, pep rallies are great for those who want to express their excitement and appreciation for their school.
