Cholla’s Drama club can be beneficial for a lot of new and returning students. Christopher Moseley as the drama teacher, makes the drama club a safe space for students to be creative and social.
Angela Garcia is a member of the club. She says theater is a great place where students can express themselves freely. She says it helps you be more outgoing and helps you form more friendships. She joined because she wanted to try something new and put herself out there. She would recommend the club to new students because you make a lot of friends, and you can have a lot of fun. Angela says the best part is the new bonds with new people and get over any shyness kids may have. If she was given the option to go back in time, she would absolutely join the club again.
Another member of the club, Nico Lupercio, says the drama club will help their future. They plan to do theater in college so, this class will adequately prepare her for that. They had been in the club for 4 years since her freshman year. At first it was a bit chaotic but as time passed the club flourished and more members joined the club. They joined because as a freshman they feared the idea of high school. Theater offered them a safe place to go at lunch or after school. They say the best part of theater is the new experiences you can have and the new people you meet. It helps you try different things. Also, it makes you more confident and makes you take more risks.

Another member of the club Jareth Cacares, who goes by Roger, says the club makes you grow and improve yourself. Roger says they have been in the club for 4 years and at first they were anxious, but when Roger joined they clicked with a lot of people and got along with other members. They joined because they found it interesting and wanted to connect with people. Roger says the club makes you more outgoing and is a lot of fun. They have made a lot of good memories in drama club. Roger would recommend the club to new students because you can meet people who will help you with high school. From what I saw, everyone in the club was very well connected and looked happy with their club. Students who may be a little scared of high school should join this club.
